Happy September! Before we dive into the new month, we wanted to take a minute and say thank you to those of you who donated to our backpack drive in August, we were able to pass out supplies to over 10 students in 3 different schools š Now that weāve officially made it into the new school year and right into my favorite season, I couldnāt be happier! Thereās nothing quite like the crisp fall air, colorful leaves, apple orchards & of course Hawkeye football!! šš¤š
As summer winds down and we transition into Fall, it's the perfect time to reset routines, refocus on wellness goals, and take proactive steps toward feeling your best. Whether you're returning to the gym, getting back into your daily walks, or addressing lingering aches and pains, now is the season to prioritize recoveryāand weāre here to help.
At Renew, we believe that healing goes beyond the treatment table. True recovery is a blend of movement, rest, and nutritionāand this month, weāre teaming up with our favorite local smoothie spot, NutriSport & Smoothie, to highlight how proper fuel can support your physical therapy journey.
šāāļøĀ Movement Matters ā But So Does Nutrition
When you're working with a physical therapist to overcome or prevent injury, or improve mobility, your muscles need the right nutrientsĀ to repair and grow stronger. Thatās where high-protein, nutrient-packed smoothies come in.
Protein helps:
Rebuild and repair muscle tissue after therapy sessions
Reduce inflammation
Support joint and bone health
Sustain energy throughout the day
Whether youāre rehabbing from surgery, treating chronic pain, or training for your next event, pairing your PT with smart post-session nutritionĀ can make a noticeable difference in your progress.

In honor of the new season, here are a few easy ways to support your body through fall:
Hydrate even as temperatures drop-cooler weather can trick you into drinking less water.
Stretch daily, especially if youāre sitting more due to school routines or work.
Incorporate protein and anti-inflammatory foodsĀ after each PT session to enhance recovery.
Maximize your sleep: Sleep in a dark, cool room limiting screen time two hours before bed to get the maximum benefits of sleep.
Letās Move Better This FallāTogether
